Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari opened the gates of the first educational, research, and treatment HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) center along with the first multi-chamber educational hospital in Tehran at Golestan Hospital of Iran’s Navy on Tuesday. The commander was accompanied by the Iranian Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education Seyyed Hassan Hashemi at the opening ceremony.
Iran’s Navy has been offering therapeutic recompression services to divers for more than 50 years, and the new center equipped with the latest German technology in the field is a state of the art center with staff trained in Germany.
The endeavors to upgrade Navy’s diving medicine started in 2003, but after anti-Iran sanctions the project suffered some impediments. However, after the order of Iran’s Leader urging the force to be the best in this field of medicine, they mustered all their capacity to open the best facility of the field in Iran.
The machinery and equipment used in the center is of the latest model of the devices available in the world.
